  2. Apple cider cream pie. (Thanksgiving dry run.)
  3. Karfiolleves (paprika-cauliflower soup with dumplings).
  4. Gingerbread apple upside-down cake.
  5. Udon noodles with ginger-scallion sauce and quick cucumber pickles, a la the Momofuku cookbook.
  6. Birthday cake for my friend Kate — dulce de leche layer cake with vanilla buttercream. My first attempt at decorating with icing.
  7. Pumpkin-seed-crusted tofu with noodles, lemongrass broth, & poached egg.
  8. Definitely stranger than Arnold …
A “Leland Palmer” — jasmine green tea, lemon & grapefruit juice, honey, gin, and limoncello.
  9. Citrus custard tart with caramelized figs, via Food & Wine. I decided to make it one regular-sized tart, instead of individual tarts. I baked the crust about 10 minutes longer, as a result.
